'Voiceless' is the companion EP to the Flying Batteries second album 'Wear Headphones', and comprises the first single from the album, 3 studio outakes, and an alternate mix each of two album tracks, an acoustic demo version of 'No Voice', and an experimental acoustic mix of 'No Love'.

"The studio outtakes on the EP stemmed from our first attempt at recording the album that would eventually become 'Wear Headphones'. We had originally envisioned the album taking on a more hazy and cold feel than what we would eventually settle on with our second attempt. I had hastily thrown together mixes, stripped the drums back, and with only a day off work in order to travel to Edinburgh from Inverness to record all the drums and percussion for the album, Jack and I set off "early as hell" (I think that's the technical term), and wound up at a studio in Edinburgh setting up with the lovely sound engineers to get this done. It wasn't until we were driving back, with 12 hour shifts looming over us, that we would realise we had probably not been in the best place to record. Not to say that the actual studio wasn't great, it sure as hell was, but we just weren't feeling it. We worked with the stems for a bit but we couldn't get them to gel with our vision for the album at the time. We kept hold of all the takes and I started tinkering with them between new demos and mixing our second attempt at the album. The songs here were 2 that didn't quite fit our new vision for the album, but we still wanted them out there, so here we are and we hope you can see the stark contrast between where we were then and where we are now"
